Fire on a Budget.

Well we're here! We are all settled in our new home in Saint Louis, Missouri. We got here late Thursday night, a lot later than we had planned in fact...

After about 3 hours on the road, we decided it was about time to stop for lunch, so we planned to stop at a familiar exit in Franklin, Tennessee. I was on the phone with Kristen while getting off the exit ramp. She had mentioned that she smelled something burning, but we thought it was the transmission fluid from her car that we had changed the day before. As we were exiting I65 she saw smoke from the tires of the trailer that was carrying my Escape. And as soon as she saw the smoke, the tires burst into flames! We quickly pulled over and Kristen called 911 as I called Budget. After about two firetrucks, twelve firefighters and one strategically placed cup of water, the fire was put out. It was really a small fire but it was going on right under my car's gas tank so better safe than sorry. Then we had to wait four hours for a new part for the trailer.

As to our adjustment to the city...well, we're getting there. We went out to get some lunch the second day we were here and got lost for two hours just looking for a Subway. Our attempt at going to church on Sunday turned out much the same way. At least we are getting to see parts of the city we haven't seen before. Hopefully it will not take us too long to adjust to such a different city.

Well we miss you all and can't wait to see you soon.
